We are all in our early 20’s, just out of college and we work for a non-profit called YoFa (for Youth Factor). At Yofa, we work on projects that explore exciting, novel ways to engage youth in social change. Grassroutes is one of them.

We are always open to ideas, suggestions and marathon discussions over cups of coffee. All it takes is a mail to team@grassroutes.in.

The founding team

It is definitely no coincidence that all the founders of Grassroutes studied at BITS Pilani and were part of this center.

Keerthikiran (Co-founder & Director)

Keeki, for most part of the day, can be found crunching numbers at Mu-sigma. He’s an Electronics & Instrumentation Engineer from BITS Pilani. He is an avid quizzer and headed ELAS, the quizzing society in college. He has also led teams that have published detailed case studies of early-stage startups. His interests include startups, politics and books.

Sriram Varadarajan (Co-founder & Director)

Ram is currently employed in Schlumberger as an Oilfield Engineer. Back in BITS Pilani, he served as the Vice President at the Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership, where he helped in setting up the Technology Business Incubator for startups. He received the Mantra Award for Leadership in 2008. At YoFa, he is the quintessential Ideas Guy!

Abhilash Ravishankar (Co-founder & Director)

Abhi is an oilman with Schlumberger in the Middle East. While at BITS Pilani , he was the President of the Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership (CEL), leading a team of 50 passionate students to build an entrepreneurship ecosystem on campus.   He is a StartingBloc Fellow, having been selected among 115 outstanding young professionals across the world in 2008 for his commitment to drive change through enterprise. A dabbler with startup ideas, he shows a great interest in the internet, mobile and social media spaces for particular use in social change.

Goutam is currently working in the energy sector at GE. He completed his engineering from BITS-Pilani. At the Rural Entrepreneurship Divison, he led a team of students who helped set-up a women’s cooperative society in a village near Pilani. Gautam is a gifted singer and is always game for an impulsive road-trip. He aspires to join the civil administration services someday.

Shravya Reddy (Director)

Shravya works at Schlumberger and is based in Algeria. During her college days, she was the President of the Rotaract chapter and worked on several initiatives to raise awareness on Global warming. She also helped in training people for a rural BPO in Pilani. She is fond of traveling, learning new languages and music.

Sonali Gupta (Project Manager)

Sonali also works as a Project Co-ordinator at Dream-a-dream foundation. She completed her Bachelors from Christ college, Bangalore. When she is not busy working, Sonali enjoys painting and reading books preferably non-fiction.
