They Struck us Hard

This lady kondamma made Awesome tea for us on the Chula. While krushi was trying to capture the pics she said ,“ just don’t leave it here after taking the pics..make sure we get gas stoves from the govt”. She later told us how difficult it is to cook during rainy season as the timber would be wet most of the times. Sometimes the tribals have to go without cooking because of this.

Surprisingly her name too was kondamma. She has to trek 10kms to and fro to get water every day from the stream. ” Why not a bore well for us in every village?” she lamented. Yeah, btw Samata has recently come up with a brilliant idea to get water from the streams directly via a tank-pump system into one or two villages depending on the stream. Its still in its budding stage and is successfully being used in some villages we visited. But then it costs around 2-3 lakhs for one such project. We don’t lack ideas surely, all we need is enough support to translate the ideas into actions. One small step from our side can help people like Kondamma in more ways than we can imagine. What say??

She is the head of SHG community in Gonduru. She talked about how difficult it is for them to walk miles just to get some basic medical help. Most people in the area fall sick because of malaria and other fatal skin diseases. But there is no adequate support from any side.

This guy desperately wants himself to go on the TV. He curiously asked us if we were from TV9 and whether the footage can be seen on TV. He did not leave us till we left the place, just for this simple desire. Yes, we let him pose for some pics to make him happy

Yo! There he is, the Epitome of optimism. This chap was one of the most happiest people I met till date. He saw no problems with anything in the way they lived. He was too content with life and wanted no more. When I discussed this with Susheela ma’am she said something which struck a chord, “You must have possessed something first, to feel the absence of it” I couldn’t agree more. They say the grass is no more greener on the other side
Cheers,
