At the starting line

Sepia is one among the three teams to have become grassroutes fellows for summer 2009. The team comprises Shruti Shah,Shailee Jain, Phaneendra and Abhimanyu- all fourth yr BITSians(Pilani).

It has been an exciting journey so far..and it has only just begun. We realise that there is enormous responsibilty that comes with becoming a grassroutes fellow. As was told in our confrence call with Keki and Shravya in the coming two-three weeks our focus will be on understanding the mapped NGO well and discussing how best to use the ten days of the road trip( the road trip itself sounds so much fun).

We shall keep you posted on our progress through the coming days and also look forward to reading up on how the other teams are doing.

    Hi Abhimanyu,
    Firstly congrats to you and your team on qualifying for the road trip!
    I happened to go through your profile and the line on building an automobile caught my attention. I just wanted to point out that during '02 Apogee, I was part of a team that built a small car from scratch (except for the engine). We built the gear box, transmission, steering system and the chassis. The car ran at ~15kmph and won the best working model award. I hope that qualifies for the first automobile built by BITSIAns unless you guys built the engine! In anycase, congrats again and all the best for your commitment to bringing change.
